A Sweet New Beginning: How Sadaf Found Confidence and a New Career Path Through the EmployAbility Program.

A sweet new beginning for our EmployAbility Client

When Sydney local Sadaf Pasha first connected with EmployAbility, she wasn’t sure what her next steps should be. Like many people returning to or reassessing work acquiring a disability, she felt overwhelmed, unsure what kind of job would suit her needs, or how to navigate employment with a disability.

But one thing was clear: she was ready for a fresh start.

Finding Support at the Right Time.

Sadaf first spoke with Employment Coach, Lisa Huynh from the EmployAbility team. From the beginning, she felt heard and supported.

“EmployAbility helped me dig deep into my own self, allowing me to recognise my ability,” Sadaf shares.

She initially hoped for help strengthening her job applications, things like writing a resume and cover letter, and rebuilding confidence after time out of the workforce. What she discovered was much more meaningful: a supportive environment where she could explore her strengths, understand her rights, and develop a path forward that truly suited her life.

A Program That Builds Confidence. One Step at a Time.

Working with her Coach, Lisa, the EmployAbility Employment program provided Sadaf with tailored support across several areas, from practical job‑search tools to personal development.

“The program educated me about disability rights in the workplace. And if you feel scared to take the first step, EmployAbility helps you feel you are not alone.”

Sadaf appreciated that the program worked at her pace, allowing her to explore opportunities without pressure. Through coaching, guidance, and connection with others, she discovered what she truly wanted (and didn’t want) from work.

From Uncertainty to Entrepreneurship.

As Sadaf moved through the program, an old dream began to take shape again. Rather than forcing herself into roles that didn’t suit her needs, the boost in confidence she gained inspired her to pursue her passion for baking and build employment on her own terms.

“I gained confidence in where my skills and strengths lie. I decided to self‑employ by starting a small business and have worked to create employment that suits my condition.”

Today, Sadaf runs her own baking business “Daffy Bakes”, a dream she never expected to pursue before receiving our support. Our program helped her shift from feeling overwhelmed to empowered, from unsure to entrepreneurial.

What Sadaf Wants Others to Know.

When asked what she wants people to understand about the program, she didn’t hesitate:

  1. It helps you discover your abilities and strengths.
  2. You learn about your rights and how to advocate for yourself.
  3. You’re supported every step of the way, especially when starting feels scary.

“I felt overwhelmed with employment due to various issues like work timings. The program motivated me to find something suitable for myself, like self‑employment.”

Advice for Anyone Considering the EmployAbility Program.

Sadaf encourages anyone who’s unsure or nervous about returning to work to take the leap.

EmployAbility, she says, is designed for people who need flexibility, reassurance, and personalised guidance, not a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.

Her journey proves that with the right support, your next chapter can look exactly how you want it to.

A Sweet New Beginning.

We’re so proud of Sadaf and the confidence she’s built.

“Sadaf has been a pleasure supporting and getting to know during her time on the program. I am overjoyed to see her continue her passion in baking and start something that suits her needs. Watching her confidence grow in herself and her abilities has made me feel very proud to be her employment coach” beams Employment Coach, Lisa Huynh.
