Meet Samantha

Meet Samantha, TBI Program Manager

Team EmployAbility is thrilled to introduce our newest member, Samantha Clay.

Sam joins us as the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program Manager at Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA). You may recall our partnership launch with icare last August. If you missed it, you can read our post here

Samantha brings a wealth of experience in providing comprehensive neurological rehabilitation services to a diverse range of clients, particularly those with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Her professional background includes eleven years in recreational therapy and six years in rehabilitation counselling, which includes case management.

Her previous colleagues and clients often praise her easy-going personality and hands-on approach to therapy services. We can already vouch for this; her radiant personality, contagious passion, and constant smile help establish a comfortable rapport.

Samantha shares, “I have had the privilege of working in some of Sydney’s premier adult and children’s inpatient acute/assessment settings, as well as inpatient rehabilitation settings. I have also coordinated community-based recreation rehabilitation programs. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with multidisciplinary teams in each setting, along with a variety of funding bodies, rehabilitation providers, and community services.

As a child, I was an elite swimmer and had a deep love for all sports. This passion has translated into my professional life, where I am fervently passionate about the intersection of recreation and rehabilitation. Recently, I have been focusing on the importance of returning to work following an injury and educating others about the significance of resuming the activities we love. I believe in taking a holistic approach to all aspects of rehabilitation.”

“I am excited to continue growing and developing in my new role as the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program Manager at Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) as part of the hard-working Team EmployAbility.”

We are so glad you are here, Samantha. Welcome aboard!
