About the job:

We are looking to hire a Design Office Manager to provides design administration, coordination and other support as required to the Design Manager.

The objective of this position is to coordinate building designs and detailed documentation for high quality, person centric designed accessible dwellings for persons with disability.


Key duties and responsibilities:

• Coordinate designs for development approval.
• Manage specialist engineers and consultants to coordinate works in keeping with timelines.
• Coordinate the preparation of design documentation including highly detailed construction drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Coordinate design work with other members of design team including drafting team and Design Manager.
• Work closely with the design team to deliver designs on time to a high level of detail and quality. Liaise with project team to deliver designs in keeping with project schedule.
• Manage design files in using organisations internal systems
• Researching new products and manage the organisations Master Product Catalogue


Key selection criteria:

• Minimum 10 years experience within residential construction.
• Sound knowledge of residential construction methodology and National Construction Code (NCC).
• An understanding of the design documentation process for development application, tender and building permit application drawing sets.
• Highly organised and able to meet deadlines.
• Able to organise and prioritise own work for effective time management.
• Is a proactive, self-motivated individual who is adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and ability to build working relationships within the team.
• Able to keep external consultants and stakeholders to agreed timelines.
• Attention to detail.
• Advanced computer skills including speed and efficiency. Ability to learn new systems.
• Be willing and able to work from home full time to Victorian office hours.
• Have or be willing to undertake National Police Check.
• Have or be willing to undertake Working with Children Check.


Desirable

• An understanding of planning requirements for residential construction in Victoria.
• Understanding of NDIS SDA Design Standards.
• Has knowledge of, or a desire to learn about, accessible building design principals to increase independence for persons with disability.
• Knowledge of CAD design and BIM data management tools
• Project management experience
