About the role

The principle purpose of this role is to take phone bookings for wheelchair accessible taxis and then utilise specialised technology to allocate the bookings to the taxi fleet.

This is a newly established team which has been created due to SCIA securing a contract with the Department of Transport to provide customer service for accessible taxi bookings. This is an exciting opportunity for SCIA which gives us the opportunity to employ more people with disability, enabling people to utilise their knowledge gained through lived experience in the workplace. A full training program is available from a dedicated training manager to enable the delivery an excellent service to people who are booking accessible taxis and the drivers who provide this essential service.

This is a flexible position which can be done from home. The call center operates on a 24/7 day basis and therefore there are a number of shifts available.

Key duties and responsibilities

  1. Take incoming bookings from people who are booking a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi
  2. Allocate the bookings to the accessible taxi fleet
  3. Manage customer feedback
  4. Input relevant data into the specialised database.

Role requirements

• Lived experience of utilizing Wheelchair Accessible Taxis
• Good written and verbal communication.
